CGAP Microfinance Photography Contest

CGAP recently announced the winners of 2008 Microfinance Photography Contest.

Somenath Mukhopadhyay, a teacher in West Bengal, India, is the winner of the CGAP Contest with his image of a girl preparing radishes to bring to the market. The contest had more than 700 entries from professional and nonprofessional photographers in 40 countries all over the world.

I’m really happy that development institutions are stimulating photographers to get involved in the attempt to represent many different environments and show everyone the best and not only the worst aspects of our world.
